What a customer looks for before they ring a tiler
Typical searches are bathroom tiler plus a town, kitchen splashback tiling, floor tiler, wet room installer, large format porcelain, and regrouting or tile repair. People also search "fit only" because they have bought the tiles themselves and need someone to lay them.
Grout lines and cuts, up close
Anyone can photograph a finished bathroom from the door. Close ups of even grout lines, mitred external corners, cuts around a soil pipe and a centred layout are what show a careful tiler.
Wet rooms and tanking
If you build wet rooms, say which tanking system you use and that you board and waterproof before tiling. A customer who has read about leaking showers wants to see that you take what is under the tiles seriously.
The tiles you are happy to fit
Large format porcelain, natural stone, mosaics, herringbone and underfloor heating all need different skills and kit. List the ones you do. It wins the better jobs and avoids the ones you would rather not take.
What goes on a good one page site for tilers
Be clear about supply and fit versus fit only. Many customers arrive with tiles already bought and need to know you will lay them, what you need from them (adhesive, trims, spare boxes for cuts) and whether you take up and dispose of the old tiles.

Accreditations and trust marks worth showing
Tiling has no licence, so show what is checkable. The Tile Association (TTA) is the UK trade body, and membership is worth a line. An NVQ Level 2 in wall and floor tiling, TrustMark registration and public liability insurance with the amount are the other real signals. If you work to BS 5385, the British Standard for wall and floor tiling, say so in a sentence, because it shows you know it exists.
Manufacturer training on a tanking or levelling system is also worth naming, since a customer can look the system up.
Mistakes tilers make online
- Only wide bathroom shots, where the tiling quality cannot be judged.
- Not saying whether you fit customer supplied tiles, which is one of the first things people want to know.
- A price per square metre with no explanation, which then causes arguments over prep, trims and awkward cuts.
- No mention of what is under the tiles. Prep and waterproofing is where your price goes, so explain it.
- Photos taken before grouting and cleaning up, with spacers and buckets in shot.

Should I quote a price per square metre on my site?
You can give a from price per square metre as a guide, but say what it covers. Make clear that tile size, pattern (herringbone takes longer than brick bond), removal of old tiles, boarding, levelling and tanking all change the figure. That way the guide filters enquiries without boxing you in.
Can I say I fit tiles the customer has bought themselves?
Yes, and it is worth saying clearly because people search for fit only tilers. Add a line on what you need from them, such as the tile size and material, the area in square metres, and a reminder to order extra for cuts and breakages.

How do I show wet room work on a one page site?
Give wet rooms their own entry in your services with a photo of a finished one and, if you have it, a photo of the tanking stage before the tiles went on. Name the waterproofing system you use. That single in progress photo does a lot of the convincing.
Do I need lots of photos to start?
No. Six to ten good photos of your own work is enough for a one page site: a couple of bathrooms, a floor, a splashback and some close ups. You can add more later as you finish jobs.
