What a customer looks for before they ring a handyman
Typical searches are handyman near me, odd job man plus a town, flat pack assembly, TV wall mounting, curtain pole and blind fitting, door easing, resealing a bath, fence panel repair, and property maintenance for landlords. People search by the job, not the trade, so the jobs need to be written on the page.

"No job too small" tells nobody anything. Twenty named jobs, grouped by room or type, lets a customer spot theirs in seconds and lets Google match you to the search.
Minimum charge, stated
An hourly or half day rate with a clear minimum call out is what handyman customers want most. It also stops the calls asking you to drive across town for ten minutes of work.
What you do not do
Gas work needs a Gas Safe registered engineer, and notifiable electrical work needs a registered electrician. Saying that you pass those on makes you look more professional, not less.
What goes on a good one page site for handymen
Landlords, letting agents and older homeowners are the repeat customers in this trade. A line for each (tenancy changeover repairs, a list of small jobs done in one visit, a patient and tidy service) speaks to them directly and costs you nothing.

Accreditations and trust marks worth showing
There is no handyman licence, so the honest signals are public liability insurance with the amount, a basic DBS check (useful for elderly customers and lettings work), and your real name and face on the page. TrustMark registration is possible for property maintenance businesses and is worth showing. Several councils' Trading Standards teams run the Buy With Confidence approved trader scheme, which is a good one to have if it operates in your area.
Directory profiles are fine to mention, but they are not accreditations. Keep the page honest about which is which.
Mistakes handymen make online
- "No job too small, all work undertaken" as the whole services section.
- No rate and no minimum charge, so every call starts with an awkward price conversation.
- Implying you do gas or full electrical work. It puts you at legal risk and careful customers notice.
- A mobile number on a Facebook post as the only way to find you, which vanishes down the feed in a week.
- No area stated, so you get calls from forty minutes away for a one hour job.

Should I list every job I do?
List the twenty or so you do most and want more of, grouped under headings like hanging and mounting, doors and locks, bathroom and kitchen, outside. Finish with a line inviting people to ask about anything not listed. A named list is what lets a customer, and Google, match you to a specific job.
Can I show an hourly rate and a minimum charge?
Yes, and I would. State the rate, the minimum call out, and whether materials and parking are extra. Handyman customers expect a price up front, and a clear minimum charge filters out the jobs that are not worth the drive.

What about jobs I am not allowed to do, like gas?
Say so plainly. A line such as "I do not carry out gas work or notifiable electrical work, but I can recommend registered engineers" protects you and reassures the customer. Swapping a light fitting like for like is a different matter from adding a circuit, so describe only what you are competent and allowed to do.
