Cleaner websites you build yourself, free for 14 days

Hiring a cleaner means handing over a key. Before anyone rings, they want to know who is coming into their home, exactly what gets cleaned, and what it costs. Build a one page website for your cleaning business that answers those three questions, in about 2 minutes. Free for 14 days, £299 once if you keep it.

What a customer wants to know before they contact a cleaner

Typical searches are cleaner near me, domestic cleaner plus a town, end of tenancy cleaning, deep clean, after builders clean, oven cleaning, office cleaning and holiday let changeovers. Regular domestic and one off cleans are different customers with different worries, so the page should speak to each separately.

🔑

Who is coming into my home

Your name, a photo if you are comfortable, that you are DBS checked and insured, and whether it is the same cleaner every visit. For a regular domestic client this matters more than price.

Exactly what is included

A short checklist for a regular clean and another for a deep or end of tenancy clean. Say what is extra (inside the oven, inside windows, ironing). Clear lists prevent the disputes that lead to bad reviews.

💷

Rates and how to book

Your hourly rate or price per clean, the minimum visit length, who supplies products and equipment, and how you take payment. Cleaning customers expect to see a price and move on if there is none.

What goes on a good one page site for cleaners

End of tenancy work has its own language. Tenants and landlords want to know you clean to a letting agent's checklist, whether carpets and the oven are included, and whether you will come back if the inventory clerk flags something. Say what you offer, but never promise a deposit will be returned, because that is not in your control.

  • Regular domestic, deep clean, end of tenancy and commercial as separate services
  • A checklist of what each clean includes
  • Your hourly rate or prices, and the minimum visit
  • DBS check and insurance, stated plainly
  • Who supplies the products and equipment
  • How keys and alarm codes are handled
  • The towns and postcodes you cover
  • Tap to call, WhatsApp and email buttons

Accreditations and trust marks worth showing

There is no licence for cleaning, so the real signals are a DBS check (anyone can apply for a basic one), public liability insurance, and ideally cover for damage to items being worked on and for keys. If you employ staff, employers' liability insurance is a legal requirement and worth stating.

Training from the British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) is a respected qualification, particularly for commercial work. A line on using products safely (COSHH awareness) helps with offices, schools and care settings. If you use eco friendly products or bring fragrance free options, say so, because some customers search for exactly that.

Mistakes cleaners make online

  • No prices anywhere. Cleaning is compared on price first, and a page without one gets skipped.
  • Stock photos of models in rubber gloves. A real photo of you, or of a kitchen you have just cleaned, is more convincing.
  • "All aspects of cleaning" instead of a list of what you actually do and do not do.
  • Promising "deposit back guaranteed" on end of tenancy cleans. You cannot control that, so offer a return visit instead if that is your policy.
  • Taking all enquiries through a personal Facebook profile, which looks informal next to a business with its own page.

More on this in my guides: getting repeat work and referrals, getting more reviews, looking professional online as a sole trader. For the money side, see how much a trade website costs.

How it works, and what it costs

I am one person, not an agency. I made the builder so you can see your own site before you spend anything.

1. Build it yourself, free

Open the builder, type in your business name, area and phone number, and it puts your page together in about 2 minutes. No card up front.

2. Free for 14 days

Change the wording, look at it on your phone, show it to someone whose opinion you trust. It costs nothing for the 14 days.

3. Keep it for £299 once

If you keep it, it is £299 once and it goes live on its own address within 24 hours of payment. No monthly fee, hosting included. If you do not pay, it is switched off and nothing is charged.

The domain name itself is not included (about £8 to £15 a year, and it stays in your name). Connecting it is free.

Cleaner website FAQs

Questions cleaners ask me. Anything else? Send me a message.

Should a cleaner put hourly rates on a website?

Yes. Cleaning customers compare on price early, and a clear hourly rate with a minimum visit length saves you answering the same question all day. If you price end of tenancy or deep cleans per property, give from prices by number of bedrooms and say what can change the figure.

Can I show that I am DBS checked and insured?

Yes, and it belongs near the top. Say that you hold a DBS certificate and public liability insurance, and be ready to show both if a customer asks. Do not claim a level of DBS check you do not have. A basic check is what most self employed cleaners can apply for themselves.

Is it really free to build?

Yes. You build the site yourself in the builder in about 2 minutes, and it is free for 14 days. There is no card up front. If you keep it, it is £299 once, with no monthly fee and hosting included. If you do not pay, the site is switched off and nothing is charged.

What happens after 14 days?

If you want to keep the site, you pay £299 once and it goes live on its own address within 24 hours of payment. There is no monthly fee and hosting is included. The domain name itself is not included (about £8 to £15 a year), but connecting it is free. If you do not pay, the site is switched off and nothing is charged.

I only want regular domestic clients, not one off deep cleans. Can the page say that?

Yes. Lead with regular weekly and fortnightly cleaning, say which days and areas you have space in, and either leave one off cleans off the page or say they are for existing clients only. Being specific brings the enquiries you want.

I work alone. Will a website make me look like an agency?

Not if it is written in your own voice. Use "I" rather than "we", put your first name on it, and say that the customer gets the same person every visit. For many households that is the main reason to choose a sole cleaner over an agency.
