How Yell sells websites now
I checked the official Yell websites page in September 2026. It does not show a website price. It says the website is included with Amplify and Accelerate at no extra cost. In other words, you do not buy a Yell website. You buy a Yell marketing package and a website comes with it. To get a quote, the page asks you to book a free 30 minute audit call or ring them.
The Amplify page does show a number. It says Amplify starts at £299 per month. I could not find a public price for Accelerate, which is the larger package that adds paid advertising. I also could not find the minimum contract length, a setup fee, or whether VAT is added on top. Those pages did not state them, so ask Yell for all three in writing before you agree to anything.
What Yell says you get
Here is what Yell lists, and it is a lot more than a website:
- A website of up to 30 pages, built around your services and the areas you cover, written and built by Yell.
- Typically live within 10 working days.
- Access to edit it yourself, plus a team to make changes for you.
- Regular blog content, business listings, review tools and reporting as part of the package.
- You can use a domain you already own.
- With Accelerate, paid advertising that points at the site.
Yell also advertises a lead guarantee on that page. Read the terms of any guarantee before you rely on it.
How tradewebsite.uk works
Here is my whole offer, so you can hold it against theirs. You build a one page site yourself at edit.tradewebsite.uk/start. It takes about 2 minutes and you do not enter a card. The site is free for 14 days. If you want to keep it, you pay £299 once. There is no monthly fee and hosting is included. If you do not pay, the site is switched off and nothing is charged. The one thing not included is the domain name itself, which costs roughly £8 to £15 a year from any registrar. Connecting it is free.
I do not run your marketing. I do not write blog posts for you, manage your listings or run adverts. I sell a website, and I have written free guides on the rest, starting with setting up a Google Business Profile, which costs nothing.

The 3 year cost, with the working
- Yell Amplify at its starting price: £299 x 36 months = £10,764. That is the minimum, because £299 is a starting price. I could not verify whether VAT is added, and I could not verify the price of Accelerate.
- Tradewebsite.uk: £299 once, plus your domain at about £8 to £15 a year. Over three years that is £299 + £24 to £45 = £323 to £344.
The number 299 is a coincidence, but a handy one to remember. Yell's starting price for one month is my price for good.
This is not a like for like comparison and I will not pretend it is. Yell's £10,764 buys three years of a managed service: listings, blog posts, review tools, reporting and an account team. Mine buys a web page. The honest question is whether you need the managed service. If you do, compare Yell with other marketing agencies, not with me. If you only wanted a website and the package came attached to it, that is when the sum above should make you stop and think.
Who should pick Yell
- You have a marketing budget of several hundred pounds a month and you want one company to run all of it.
- You want a large site with separate pages for each service and each town, written for you.
- You want blog posts, listings and review requests handled without doing any of it yourself.
- You want paid adverts managed alongside the site (that is the Accelerate package).
- You are busy enough that handing the whole lot to an account manager is worth the money.
For an established firm with staff and a real marketing budget, that can be a sensible purchase.
Who should pick tradewebsite.uk
- You are a sole trader or a small firm and £299 a month is not a number you want leaving your account.
- You want a website, not a marketing contract.
- You want to know the full price before you speak to anybody.
- You want it live today and you want to see it before you pay.
- You are willing to do the free marketing yourself. A Google Business Profile and a steady flow of customer reviews cost nothing but a bit of time.
If you are weighing up lead sites as well, I compare them in your own website vs Checkatrade and MyBuilder. All the builders are in one table in the cheapest website builder for tradespeople.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Yell website cost?
Yell does not publish a price for a website on its own. When I checked in September 2026, the Yell websites page said the website is included with its Amplify and Accelerate packages, and the Amplify page said Amplify starts at £299 per month. For an exact quote Yell asks you to book a call.
What does Yell cost over three years?
At the published starting price for Amplify, £299 x 36 months = £10,764. That is a minimum, because £299 is a starting price. I could not verify whether VAT is added, the contract length, or the price of the larger Accelerate package.
Is there a contract with Yell?
The Yell pages I checked in September 2026 did not state a minimum term, so I cannot tell you. Ask Yell for the contract length, the notice period, any setup fee and whether the price is plus VAT, and get the answers in writing before you sign.
Is a Yell website better than a one page website?
It is bigger. Yell builds up to 30 pages around your services and areas and includes blog content, listings and review tools. A one page site does one job, which is turning a visitor into a phone call. Whether the bigger package is worth it depends on whether you need managed marketing or just a website.
What does tradewebsite.uk cost compared with Yell?
£299 once, with hosting included and no monthly fee, plus a domain name at about £8 to £15 a year. Over three years that is roughly £323 to £344. Yell Amplify at its starting price is £10,764 over the same period, but it includes marketing services that I do not offer.
Can I use my own domain with either?
Yes. Yell says it will point a domain you already own at the website it builds. With tradewebsite.uk you buy the domain yourself from any registrar, and I connect it for free.
Just want the website? It is £299, once
Build a one page trade site in about 2 minutes. Free for 14 days, no card, no sales call. £299 once if you keep it.
