What UENI charges in the UK
I checked the official UENI UK pricing page in September 2026. All UENI prices are shown plus VAT. There are four plans, and each has a monthly price and a setup fee:
- Website Launch: £18.99 +VAT a month paid monthly, £15.83 +VAT a month on the yearly option, £14.24 +VAT a month on the two year option. Setup fee £599 +VAT.
- Plus (marked most popular): £49 +VAT a month paid monthly, £40.83 +VAT on yearly, £36.75 +VAT on two year. Setup fee £49 +VAT, labelled as a limited time price.
- Ecommerce: £79 +VAT a month paid monthly. Setup fee £99 +VAT.
- Growth: £94.99 +VAT a month paid monthly. Setup fee £149 +VAT.
Notice the pattern. The cheapest monthly plan carries the biggest setup fee. Launch looks like £18.99 a month, but the £599 setup fee is where most of the first year cost sits.
What you get for that
To be fair to UENI, the price buys real work. Their page lists a custom designed website built for you, a custom domain and SSL, a professional email address, hosting, and 30 days of done for you edits on Launch. Plus adds unlimited done for you edits, 4 email addresses and phone support. They state 7 days to launch and a 30 day money back guarantee.
That is a different kind of service from mine. With UENI a team builds and edits the site for you. With me, you fill in your own details and the page is built on the spot.
How tradewebsite.uk works
Here is my whole offer, so you can hold it against theirs. You build a one page site yourself at edit.tradewebsite.uk/start. It takes about 2 minutes and you do not enter a card. The site is free for 14 days. If you want to keep it, you pay £299 once. There is no monthly fee and hosting is included. If you do not pay, the site is switched off and nothing is charged. The one thing not included is the domain name itself, which costs roughly £8 to £15 a year from any registrar. Connecting it is free.
I do not include an email address. If you want one on your own domain, your domain registrar will sell you a mailbox, or you can carry on with the address you already use.

The 3 year cost, with the working
I have used UENI's yearly rate, which is cheaper than paying monthly, and I assume the price stays the same for all three years.
- UENI Website Launch: £15.83 x 36 months = £569.88. Add the £599 setup fee = £1,168.88 +VAT. If you are not VAT registered you cannot claim the VAT back, so at 20% that is £1,402.66.
- UENI Plus: £40.83 x 36 months = £1,469.88. Add the £49 setup fee = £1,518.88 +VAT. With 20% VAT that is £1,822.66.
- Tradewebsite.uk: £299 once, plus your domain at about £8 to £15 a year. Over three years that is £299 + £24 to £45 = £323 to £344.
Remember that UENI's price includes the domain and an email address and mine does not. Even if you add a paid mailbox to my total, the gap stays wide. What you are really paying UENI for is the labour: someone else builds the site and, on Plus, keeps changing it for you for as long as you pay.
Who should pick UENI
- You do not want to type a single word of your own website. You want to answer a questionnaire and have a team do the rest.
- You expect to change the site often and you want someone else to make every change. Plus lists unlimited done for you edits.
- You want the domain, email addresses and website on one bill from one company.
- You want phone support. UENI lists VIP phone support on Plus and above.
- You want to sell online. UENI has an Ecommerce plan. I do not offer a shop.
- You are VAT registered, so the +VAT part does not cost you.
Who should pick tradewebsite.uk
- You want the lowest total cost over the years and you do not want a monthly fee.
- You are happy to spend about 2 minutes entering your own trade, town and phone number.
- You want to see the finished site, live, before you pay a penny.
