What GoDaddy charges in the UK
I checked the official GoDaddy UK Website Builder page in September 2026. GoDaddy now brands the builder as Airo AI Builder. You describe the site you want and it generates it. There is a free plan and three paid plans:
- Free: 50 AI credits a month, no credit card required.
- Starter: £7.49 a month billed annually, or £14.99 a month if you pay monthly. Publish 1 site, 150 AI credits a month.
- Professional (marked most popular): £17.99 a month billed annually, or £36.99 paid monthly. Publish 10 sites, 300 credits a month.
- Ultimate: £74.99 a month billed annually, or £149.99 paid monthly. Publish 50 sites, 750 credits a month.
So the annual Starter plan is £7.49 x 12 = £89.88, paid as one yearly bill. Paying month by month costs about twice as much per month.
Two things I could not verify on that page: whether VAT is added at the basket, and whether the price goes up when the plan renews. Check both before you pay. GoDaddy advertises a free domain with any paid plan. I could not verify how long it stays free, so check the terms next to that offer.
How the credits work
GoDaddy explains that each plan comes with a set of credits that power building with the AI. Credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not roll over. If you run out, you can buy more or wait for the next cycle. GoDaddy also says that editing text and images does not use credits, which is the part that matters for a trade site. Once it is built, changing your phone number or swapping a photo should not cost you credits.
Other things GoDaddy lists on all paid plans: a mobile friendly site, 24/7 support, SSL, online booking and payments, selling products and services, and the option to download your code at any time. That last one is a genuinely good feature.
How tradewebsite.uk works
Here is my whole offer, so you can hold it against theirs. You build a one page site yourself at edit.tradewebsite.uk/start. It takes about 2 minutes and you do not enter a card. The site is free for 14 days. If you want to keep it, you pay £299 once. There is no monthly fee and hosting is included. If you do not pay, the site is switched off and nothing is charged. The 3 year cost, with the working
I assume the listed price holds at renewal, which I could not verify, and I leave VAT out because I could not confirm how GoDaddy applies it.
- GoDaddy Starter, billed annually: £7.49 x 36 months = £269.64.
- GoDaddy Starter, paid monthly: £14.99 x 36 months = £539.64.
- GoDaddy Professional, billed annually: £17.99 x 36 months = £647.64.
- Tradewebsite.uk: £299 once, plus your domain at about £8 to £15 a year. Over three years that is £299 + £24 to £45 = £323 to £344.
Read that first line again, because it does not flatter me. On annual billing, GoDaddy Starter costs less than my site over three years. £299 divided by £7.49 is just under 40, so the website fee itself only breaks even at around month 40. After that GoDaddy keeps billing and mine does not. At five years GoDaddy Starter is £7.49 x 60 = £449.40 against my £299.
If you pay GoDaddy monthly the picture flips quickly. £299 divided by £14.99 is just under 20, so I am cheaper from month 20.
Who should pick GoDaddy
- Your money is tight right now and about £90 this year is easier to find than £299.
- You want customers to book and pay online. GoDaddy lists online booking, payments and deposits on its paid plans. I do not offer that.
- You want to sell products. GoDaddy lists selling unlimited products and services.
- You want more than one page, or more than one site.
- You like the idea of building by talking to an AI, and you want to be able to download the code.
- You already have your domains at GoDaddy and want everything in one account.

- You plan to be trading in four years and you would rather pay once than renew every year.
